SAMAAP Concludes the Year with Participation in National Events

SAMAAP closing the year with its participation in two events instituted by the national government.

Members, family members, and allies of the Society of Friends of the Afro-Antillean Museum of Panama (SAMAAP) participated in the parade commemorating the 122nd anniversary of Panama’s Separation from Colombia on Monday, November 3, 2025. The event took place in Panama City along the Casco Antiguo route and was organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Patriotic Parades Commission.

They also participated in the Christmas parade, the International Christmas Festival City of Stars 2025, organized by the Municipality of Panama on Sunday, December 14, 2025, along the Calle 50 route.

In both parades, our delegation joined attendees from the National Secretariat for Policies and Development for Afro-Panamanians (SENADAP), the Association of United Afro-Panamanians (AAPU), and other organizations that are members of the Afro-Panamanian Forum. With great pride, they celebrated our national holidays and demonstrated their Christmas spirit, highlighting our culture and Afro heritage.

The parade committee was coordinated by member Verónica Forte, Vice President, with the support of the Board of Directors, and included the presence of our 2025 Queen, Miss Astrid Peña.
